The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday night and on Thursday at dawn, kidnapped at least 20 Palestinians, including 8 elderly from Jerusalem, according to local sources.
As stated by local sources, almost ten elderly Palestinians were arrested since they spend their days inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards.
The IOF alleged that these men are a threat to the extremist settlers that invade the compound in a daily basis, especially now with the Passover Jewish holiday coming.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center (Silwanic) stated that the IOF kidnapped Sheikh Yaser Abu Ghazalah, an employee of the Islamic Waqf Authority in Jerusalem, in addition to one young man during evening raids in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood.
The IOF also kidnapped, in Silwan district, in occupied East Jerusalem, 68-years-old Mohammed Yasin.
In Beit Hanina, Nabil Sharif, 70, was kidnapped after the IOF stormed into his house.
Said Semrain, 70, and Omar Abdel Semrain 57, were also kidnapped after Israeli soldiers stormed into their houses.
Haj Abu Fayez, 70, Akram Shurafa, 45, Abu Anas, 67, Abu Mohammed Joulani, 60, and Tawfiq Ghaith 60 years were also kidnapped.
Settlers severely beat Palestinian elderly Maqdisi Zuhair Abu Khudair, 63, from the Shuafat neighborhood, northeast Jerusalem, causing sustained injuries all over his body. He was transferred to Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital, in Jerusalem, for treatment.
The Israeli authorities demanded a escalation on the kidnappings of Palestinians from Jerusalem especially due to the upcoming Jewish holiday of the Passover, on April 22.
