Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Tuesday morning broke into al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem, and demolished three homes under construction, under the pretext of having no construction permits.
Head of al-Walaja Local Council, Abdul-Rahman Abu at-Teen, said a large military force invaded Ein Jweiza area, north of the village, before demolishing the three homes.
He added that the demolished properties belong to Maher Mahmoud Abu Khyara, Issa al-Qontar and Obeida al-Mohtasib.
Abu at-Teen also said that, a week ago, the soldiers invaded Ein Jweiza area, photographed several homes and handed a few Palestinians demolition orders.
He added that the area has been subject to frequent Israeli military invasions and violations.
The Israeli army claimed that the area falls under the jurisdiction of the Jerusalem City Council, and that “the Palestinians cannot build there without the council’s approval.”
