Palestinian FM: Diplomatic efforts to hold Israel responsible in The Hague

The Palestinian Foreign Minister, Dr. Riyad al-Maliki on Wednesday said the Palestinian foreign ministry is making efforts to put pressure on Israel, in attempts to stop its crimes and aggressions against the Palestinian people.

In an interview with Voice of Palestine radio this morning, Maliki said that the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, will meet with his French counterpart Hollande in Paris on 17 April to discuss the French initiative, to hold an international conference for peace in the Middle East.

Maliki said the French envoy to the Middle East recently completed a visit to the US capital Washington, where he discussed with officials there the French initiative, adding that the information currently available shows that the Americans did not comment positively or negatively to this initiative did not give a definite position and this is a positive thing.

Maliki added that President Mahmoud Abbas will discuss during his visit to Paris, the latest developments for the French initiative will seek to coordinate Palestinian position with the French side in order to serve the Palestinian national cause.

On the other hand, Maliki said that a specialized delegation from the National Committee for the follow-up with the International Criminal Court, headed by the Foreign Ministry, will attend meetings in The Hague with a group of experts in international law to also follow up with the Prosecutor.
