Two Palestinians were shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) after they reportedly stabbed and wounded an IOF soldier at a military checkpoint by the Tel Rumeida neighborhood in Hebron on Thursday morning.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the death of two young men. They were identified as Ramzi Aziz al-Qasrawi, 21, and Abed al-Fattah Yusri al-Sharif, 21.
Furthermore, eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli soldiers opened fire on one the young man’s head from a “zero distance”, even after he was already injured.
The IOF left both Palestinians bleeding to death while helping the wounded Israeli soldier.
According to the Israeli media, the Israeli soldier was in light-to-moderate condition with stab wounds in the shoulder and hand. Israeli Magen David Adom transported him from the scene to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
IOF claim to have suspended and opened an investigation with the soldier who cold-bloodedly executed Abdul-Fattah Al-Sharif (21).
The current tension situation is ongoing since October first 2015, due to repetitive Israeli settler attacks on Al-Aqsa mosque, the third holiest place in Islam, and Israeli restrictions over Palestinian entrance, in addition to the Duma arson attack which killed a baby and his parents on July, 31.
Moreover, the IOF has been criticized internationally in recent months for its ‘preemptive shootings’ of Palestinians alleged to be holding knives.
In addition several of the incidents in which the IOF has claimed that they were ‘attacked’ have proven to be false.
Since then, more than 200 Palestinians have been killed. More than 15,000 Palestinians have been injured by IOF live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and teargas.
Some 30 settlers were killed on the Israeli side in Palestinian operatives.
