The judge of the Israeli District Court on Wednesday, 16 March, has sentenced seven minors from Jerusalem with actual imprisonment with ranging period, starting with 12 months and up to 39 months.
According to Wadi Hilweh Information Center, charges against the children include hurling stones at settlers’ vehicles while passing from Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem Street.
Lawyer Mohammed Mahmoud explained that the District Court judge has sentenced seven children between the ages of 14-17 with actual imprisonment after they spend eight months in house arrest.
The lawyer also explained that the boys were arrested back in June 2015 from Beit Hanina neighborhood, and were released on fines after two weeks of detention in Al-Mascobiyah police. On the release, they were sentenced to open house arrest until the end of legal proceedings against them.
The court sessions continued after that, until the final decision of imprisonment was made.
