16 Palestinians die in bus crash on way to pilgrimage, Jordan

16 Palestinian pilgrims have been confirmed dead, and 36 others injured when their bus overturned Wednesday evening in Ma’an city south of Jordan while on their way to perform pilgrimige (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia.

PIC reported from the Jordanian Civil Defense that the driver apparently lost control before the bus overturned near the borders with Saudi Arabia. He also affirmed that 16 Palestinians died while 36 others were transferred to hospital, suffering from moderate to serious injuries.

PIC added that the death toll might increase in the coming hours as a number of pilgrims were critically injured. The passengers from the West Bank were heading to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
