The Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi has called for halting Israeli oppression of Palestine and its people on Sunday before the fifth extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Palestine in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

“Israel’s intransigence towards Palestine and Jerusalem continues along with its occupation of the Palestinian territories which is illegal. Your support will lay the foundations for stability and peace in Palestine,” Marsudi said.

She also stressed that time has come to find a solution to the Palestinian issue, adding that the arrests and injustices committed by the Israeli soldiers against civilians, including the elderly and children, continue as well as the economic blockade on Palestine.

Marsudi also announced that nearly 500 delegates from 49 member states participated in the summit which continues today.
