On Friday evening, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot dead a Palestinian woman while she was driving her car near the main entrance of Silwad town.
The Israeli occupation police said in a statement that “she attempted to ram [Israeli] soldiers with her car.” However, eyewitness confirmed that she was at least 30 meters away from the military roadblock, when the Israeli soldiers opened fire on her.
The witnesses added that the woman was not even speeding when the IOF opened fire on her car.
The Palestinian Health Ministry stated that the victim was shot with two live rounds in her face, five rounds in the chest and two in the pelvis.
She was identified as Mahdiyya Mohammad Ibrahim Hammad, 38.
She was married and mother of four children.
According to local sources, after the shooting, the IOF left Mahdiyya bleeding to death, and held her body for more than two hours before handing her to the Palestinian side, near the Beit El military roadblock.
Her family said the funeral ceremony and procession will be held today, after the noon prayers in Silwad.
