Israeli soldiers kidnapped 28 Palestinians overnight in search and arrest raids across the occupied West Bank , the IOF said in a statement.
According to the statement, “13 of them are suspected of popular terror,” a term used to denote rock-throwing and firebomb “attacks”.
The sweep of arrests took place throughout the occupied West Bank, in Dir Amar northwest of Ramallah, Kafr Akeb southeast of Ramallah and in at least four villages in the Hebron area, according to the Hebrew media.
As reported by locals, eight residents from Beit Ummar, including four minors were among the abducted. Six of them were identified as Omar Muhammad Khalil Awad,14, Amr Riyad Issa Arrar,15, Rashid Yousef Bader Awad,16, Muhammad Nidal Amer Abu Maria,16, Ayesh Khalid Sabri Awad,19, and Okal Mahmoud Yousef Ahmad Jawabra,19.
The IOF also stormed into al-Fawwar refugee camp, kidnapping Isaac Hudaib, Sari abu Hashhash and Ali Waleed Naim.
A major operation involving the occupation forces from different four IOF brigades in Hizme, southeast of Ramallah, uncovered large number of weapons hidden in Palestinian homes, including three rifles, ammunition, military equipment, daggers, knives and written materials containing incitement to terror attacks, the IOF said.
Recent raids are among several measures implemented by Israeli occupation forces that have targeted the Hebron area especially.
Residents in the area have reported road closures, sealing of entrances to villages, home demolitions, flying checkpoints, and curfews over the last month.
