A Palestinian girl was run over by the former head of Israeli settlements in the northern West Bank, Gershon Mesika, near Huwara checkpoint in Nablus. After the run over, soldiers shot the girl, leading to her immediate death. Israeli media claimed that the 16-year-old schoolgirl, Ashraqat Qatanani, was murdered after an alleged stabbing attempt. There are no reports of any Israeli injuries.
Photos showed a knife placed next to her body, but it is not known whether soldiers planted it there after the the girl was ran over and shot or not.
