IOF shuts down another Palestinian radio in Hebron

PNN/Hebron

This Friday overnight, the Israeli occupation Forces raided into Radio Khalil, a Palestinian radio station in Hebron, confiscated equipment and left a notice of closure for six months.

Radio Khalil is the second Palestinian news outlet to be shut by the IOF this month alone in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron. The notice was signed by the GOC of the Central Command, Major General Roni Numa.

The IOF Spokesman’s Unit confirmed today the closure, calling it a joint operation by the IOF, Shin Bet security service and the Israeli Civil Administration, according to the Hebrew-language Walla website.

“The action was taken after broadcasts containing incitement were aired by the station,” said the IOF in a statement.

Earlier this month, israeli soldiers and Israeli Civil Administration officials raided into another Palestinian radio station also in Hebron, after it aired what the israeli occupation army called “incitement” to deadly attacks against Israelis.
