In addition to the ongoing Israeli crackdown against the Palestinian youths and uprising, Israel has declared war on the Palestinian media outlets, with a series of hacking, topped by destroying and closing down the Al-Hurriyya News Network in Hebron.
On Tuesday morning, Israeli soldiers broke into the headquarters of Al-Hurriyya Media Network, destroyed the offices, confiscated the tools and threatened to demolish the entire building if the network works again, accusing it of “inciting” Palestinians against the Israeli occupation.
Ra’ed Al-Sharif, journalist for Al-Hurriyya said that IOF have handed in a military order to evacuate the building for six months, in addition to giving arrest notices to two men working in the network.
The offices will be closed until 29 April 2016, and the building cannot be entered or restored according to the military order.
The Israeli media on Tuesday said referred to the network, which has 43 employees, as “the nest of terrorism”, celebrating its closure.
In response to this attack, the Palestinian radio stations have been covering news under the name of the destroyed “Manbar Al-Hurriya” radio. broadcasting from different Palestinian cities including Jenin, Nablus, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Hebron.
This move comes in midst of a series of Israeli attacks on Palestinian networks during the past week including Wattan TV, Rabia radio, and PNN.
Head of the Journalists union, Nasser Abu Bakr said that these attacks come as Israeli attempts to cover up the truth and silence the Palestinian voice that exposes Israeli war crimes and excessive violence.
To his part, CEO and editor in Chief for Palestine News Network (PNN), Monjed Jado said that PNN website has been deliberately attacked by professional hackers over the course of three days.
Jado added that having international audiences of Palestinian media, especially the English and French news outlets, angered Israel since it stripped it from its mask and exposed the truth of its deliberate crimes against the Palestinian people.
He added that these crimes come as part of the Israeli aggression on Palestine, which takes several forms on the ground, adding that PNN will still continue its work and deliver the Palestinian call for freedom of the occupation.
