PNN/Jenin

A Palestinian teenager, identified as Mahmoud Talal Nazzal, from Qabatiya, was shot dead this Saturday morning after an alleged attack attempt on an Israeli occupation security guard at the al-Jalama checkpoint north of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, as stated by the israeli newspaper Haaretz.

According to the IOF, in the morning hours, before the checkpoint was open to traffic, “the knife-wielding Palestinian hid near the checkpoint’s taxicab stand. Security guards spotted him running at them with a knife in his hand. They called on the Palestinian to halt, but when he failed to respond to their calls they shot him”.

Mahmoud al-Saadi, director of the Palestinian Red Crescent in the Jenin area, stated that the ambulance was prevented from entering the checkpoint area for a long period of time while the young man was left bleeding on the ground. Only afterwards, the medical team manage to rescue him.

His death comes a day after three other Palestinians were killed by the Israeli occupation army, including an 8 month old baby.
