Palestinian teenager Ahmad Manasra, 13, was charged this Friday morning by the Israel’s Jerusalem District Court for attempt to murder two Israelis on Oct. 12 in occupied Jerusalem.

The attempt of stabbing took place near the illegal Pisgat Zeev settlement in occupied East Jerusalem. Ahmad’s 15-year-old cousin, Hassan, was shot dead at the scene by the IOF, while Ahmad was knocked over by a car and seriously wounded.  A video of him lying injured and bleeding on the ground went viral on social media.
Remember his case here.
According to the Israeli news website Ynet, Ahmad will be held in a closed facility until prosecution, with the court rejecting the family’s request that he be placed under house arrest. The news outlet also stated that “the indictment claimed that on the day of the attack, the accused returned from school and met up with his cousin. The two discussed the “situation” at Al-Aqsa Mosque, living conditions in Gaza, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, and then allegedly decided to become martyrs and be killed in a religious war against the Jews.”
Ahmad will remain in a “closed facility” until he becomes 14, next January and then transferred to an israeli jail.
According to Addameer, over 1,000 Palestinians have been detained since the beginning of the month in occupied Palestinian territory, including around 150 children. Also, over 60 Palestinians have been killed this month by the Israeli Occupation Forces and Israeli Police.
