A Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli soldiers during clashes that broke out at the northern entrance of Bethlehem city, central West Bank, this afternoon.
Mutaz Zawahreh (27) from Deheisheh refugee camp south Bethlehem, sustained serious injuries on Tuesday afternoon during the clashes, and was announced dead of his wounds shortly afterwards in the Beit Jala governmental hospital.
Head of the medics in Bethlehem, Mohammad Awad said that the youth was hit with a metal bullet that penetrated his lung near the 300 military point.
Mu’taz Zawahre worked at the Jacir Palace hotel which is annexed to the checkpoint north of the city.
An angry demonstration went out to the streets of Bethlehem following his death. Hundreds are now bidding the last farewell to Mu’taz in his home in Deheisheh refugee camp.
Mutaz is the third Palestinian to be killed by IOF today.
