Hunger striker Adnan hospitalized as his health status deteriorates

The Palestinian Prisoners Club today said that the health status of now freed prisoner, Khader Adnan — who led a 55 day hunger strike, is severely deteriorating. Last night, he was transferred to the Jenin Hospital for treatment, and still remains there.

Adnan’s family stated that he would not be able to receive visits from well-wishers in his hometown of Arraba. As the face of the freed, he wishes for the safety of all Palestinians, a joyous Eid al-Fitr, and for a free world.

Khader Adnan was released on Sunday following a 55-day hunger strike in Israeli prison, and re-arrested again Monday night to be finally released hours later.

Israel has detained the 37-year-old father of six for ten times throughout a total of 6 years of arbitrary imprisonment, which can imprison Palestinians indefinitely for renewable six-month intervals.

He has previously been on longer hunger strikes and refused food for 66 days back in 2013.
