A Palestinian man was left seriously injured after Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on him last night at Qalandia checkpoint south of Ramallah.

According to eyewitnesses, the unidentified young man entered the checkpoint on foot and was suddenly fired upon by Israeli soldiers, bullets hitting the lower half of his body.

IOF soldiers claimed that the soldiers had fired at a Palestinian man (age unconfirmed- some reports say he is 21 years old) at Qalandia checkpoint after he began chanting ‘Allahu akbar’ (God is great).

Sources in the Israeli army said that the injured man was transferred to an Israeli hospital in occupied Jerusalem for necessary treatment, and described his condition as stable.
