IOF detain 7 Palestinians including 3 children


7 Palestinians including 3 children were detained overnight after Israeli raids sparked clashes throughout Bethlehem and Jerusalem residential districts on Monday.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out raids in ‘Aida refugee camp, where they abducted 5 Palestinians and vandalized their homes. 3 other Palestinians were summoned to an interrogation center in Gush Etzion settlement. after IOF soldiers broke into their homes in Bethlehem city.

Meanwhile, 3 Palestinian children (15,16 and 17 years old) were kidnapped by the IOF during clashes in East Jerusalem and the Old City sparked by Israeli raids in Suwwana neighborhood, according to WAFA news.

IOF soldiers reportedly fired stun grenades and tear gas, in response to which Palestinian youths threw stones and empty bottles.

Tension has been high in Jerusalem recently after a Palestinian teenager was shot after stabbing an Israeli soldier outside East Jerusalem’s Old City.

There are currently at least 182 Palestinian minors locked up in Israeli jails, including 26 minors below the age of 16.

In 2014, the international rights group Defense for Children said that Israeli authorities have denied legal counsel to 93% of child detainees, according to Tasnim News.
