Teenager critically injured after alleged attempt to stab Israeli border policeman

PNN/ Jerusalem/

Israeli occupation police Sunday noon opened fire on a Palestinian teenager who was identified as Yasser Turwah, aged 18 years old, after he allegedly attempted to stab two border cops near Damascus Gate, East Jerusalem.

Haaretz said that an Israeli border policeman was critically wounded after he was stabbed in the neck, when he immediately opened fire at Yasser.

The border policeman was then evacuated to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in critical condition. However, the Palestinian teenager was left on the roadside for a while to liquidate, while Israeli police prevented the people from approaching his body.

The media had conflicting reports on his death, since Israeli media assured he was dead but retracted from the announcement after medics said he was alive but in critical condition.

IOF following the incident broke into the Yasser’s home in Si’ir village near Hebron. Eyewitnesses told PNN that the house was raided and searched, after it was surrounded by a number of Israeli military vehicles.
