Palestine won a huge victory over Malaysia on Tuesday night with a final score of 6-0 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, destroying Malaysia’s 2018 World Cup Group A campaign, reported ESPN FC.
Despite a total population of 5 million people (compared to Malaysia’s 29.7m), Palestine managed to bounce back from its 3-2 defeat in the 94th minute in their match against Saudi Arabia last week, scoring a total of 6 goals during its routing of the Malaysian team.
Palestine took its first shot at the goal in only the second minute with Seyam sending the ball over the bar in a show of strength that Palestine managed to keep up during the remainder of the game. The first goal came 7 minutes later from Battat as he easily bypassed a lazy Malaysian defence.
Palestinian scorers were: Mus’ab al-Battat (9′), Sameh Maraaba (23′,75′), Tamer Seyam (41′,85′) and Khader Youssef (63′).
Palestine came into the 2018 World Cup qualifiers ranked 118th by FIFA, 44 places above Malaysia. The national team has done extremely well recently, qualifying earlier this year for their 1st Asian Cup.
It is Malaysia’s second 6-0 loss in their last four fixtures, as they lost to Oman by the same score in March.
